Laser Cut Baseboards in standard building block sizes as well as set of small Diorama boards. Laser cut from 6mm Quality Plywood supplied as a flatpack.
Sizes starting from 300mm x 300mm the diorama boards are cut from 6mm plywood and in 2 sizes 300 x 300mm and 450 x 300 which are 100mm deep being more suited to the railway modeller than other diorama boards with a below platform space of 100mm. being 6mm they provide a more sturdy side to attach back scenes.
The full size laser cut baseboards are from 6mm or 9mm high quality birch plywood and are available from 600 x 300 in various sizes the first one available will be 750 x 300 mm standard. The ideal easy and mess solution for your model railway baseboard or to display some of those prize model cars or trucks.
New improved Interlocking:
Our Baseboards have had an upgrade they now all seamlessly interlock 300 wide with 600 and the new 150mm wide (coming soon) means even more flexibility !
Why use a laser cut baseboard ?
- Laser cutting produces components with very tight tolerances. The sides, cross-members, and joints fit together precisely, helping to create a square, level baseboard without extensive measuring or adjustment.
- Our laser-cut kits use slot-and-tab designs, allowing parts to interlock before gluing or screwing. This can significantly reduce build time compared with cutting timber components from scratch.
- If you’re building multiple boards or modular layouts, every section can be identical. This consistency is particularly useful for exhibition layouts where modules must align accurately.
- Laser-cut plywood baseboards incorporate engineered structures such as box girders or open-frame designs. These provide good rigidity while keeping weight low, making transportation easier.
